Leadenham was a 1st World War airfield, situated about 10 miles East of Newark, and located less than a mile East of Leadenham village itself.
The airstrip was a simple grass field and was open between 1916-1919. It did not re-open during WW2.
No traces remain of this former flying field, although North Kesteven District Council have erected a marker panel on the junction of Pottergate road and Long lane on what would have been the north east corner of the old field. |
