From L. Holloway at 2007-11-26 15:47:00 : I served at Nocton Hall in 1991 when the US Air Force brought 1300 medical personnel there to operate a 500 bed turnkey operation hospital. At the time Nocton Hall had been maintained by only a few American Civil Engineers prior to our arrival. It's very interesting to see Nocton Hall as it is today. I remember cleaning up the buildings when we moved in to work there but they were in full repair at the time and simply needed cleaning. Thank you for providing these photos, it's very interesting to see current photos of the place! The local British were very kind and accomodating to us, we were billetted at RAF stations nearby, and were transported each morning to the hospital by bus. We had very few patients from Desert Storm treated while Nocton Hall was open at the time. I believe the number sits at 35.
